Brazil to record UFO sightings

(August 12, 2010) The BBC reported that the Brazilian government is now requiring pilots and air traffic controllers to report sightings of unidentified flying objects to the air force.

The reports, to be stored at the national archives in Rio de Janeiro, will be made available to UFO researchers. The air force, however, will be limited to collecting data and will not be chasing unidentified flying objects.

Brazil has had its share of UFO sightings, particularly in 1977 in the Amazon and 1986 in Sao Paolo. An anonymous air traffic controller intimated that even politicians have reported seeing UFOs.
