Meteors over Mississippi?

(March 20, 2010) The Biloxi-Gulfport and South Mississippi Sun Herald reported that an unidentified flying object was sighted over Stone, Jackson and Carroll counties in Mississippi. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) suggested that the object might have been a fireball from a Gamma Normids meteor shower. MEMA spokesman Jeff Rent said that the meteor shower would continue until Tuesday and added that daylight sightings, which extended to Louisiana, might have caught people off guard.
